Getting Ready for OctPoWriMo 2016

Every day during September, we are here chatting about writing and how you can get ready for OctPoWriMo in October. For some, it's no big deal to write a poem every single day but for others, it can be quite difficult to stay the course through the month. Honestly it is all up to you. If you choose to write daily we are here for you, if you choose not to write daily we are still here for you.

There are probably as many ways to get ready for OctPoWriMo as there are participants, the biggest thing is to remember to be kind to yourself, explore poetry in new ways if you are able, or write what is familiar. Read our tips and prompts to find inspiration or go on your own discovery journey to find inspiration. Whatever works for you. We only make suggestions. Write with pen and paper, or write on your laptop, try new forms of poetry or stick with your favorite type. It is all good.

If you've noticed, everyday I've been posting several posts from previous Septembers. There are so many juicy, informative, and delectable posts from previous years that I hope you will check them out. You never know when there will be a good bit of wisdom that will help you along your passion for words.

One more thing, if you've never participated before, you can go to the previous October link ups and explore what others have written, such as; October 2015.

I love old photographs and photos of antique style rooms.
This looks like a lovely place to have a writing retreat.
